    Could you give us some information about what trail you're on, where you actually started, etc? It looks really good but how do we get to it? Thanks!

    • @torrieandtodd
      @torrieandtodd 11 днів тому

      @tinac3094 we started in the centre of Ballater and just cycled up the public single track road to Loch Muick, once at the loch, we went around it anticlockwise but the section back down the other side is a walkers path, totally unrideable and I wouldn't recommend that at all unless you like carrying bikes and listening to walkers telling you "that doesn't look easy" as you're stood at the side of the path with 2 bikes on your shoulders... Except for that section, Ballater to the bottom end of Loch Muick is a very scenic ride and worth doing as an easy day out.

    Wow, nice video and it is not very often that you find yourself on someones video :-) 0:57. And we have a video from this river too ua-cam.com/video/YhsFc6Ujk8Q/v-deo.htmlsi=M4pWjmfHwAD8hKlJ Which considering we are from Prague and it was our first time on this river as well in Scotland and only for one day, is quite unique a nice coincidence. I hope you enjoyed the Garry river at least as much as we did. :-)

      @torrieandtodd Рік тому

      Hi, get into the woods here Dropped pin maps.app.goo.gl/VEJNnn1Qf5atACiv6?g_st=ic The trails are in the middle of the woods at the point I marked, go round clockwise sticking to the well made path and you’ll come to a fire break with tracks, head up into the woods and you’ll see the trails but you need to hunt for them. Once you find one, you’ll find them all. When I was last there, the forest was being harvested and the trails gone but I had heard the locals rebuilt them.

      This run starts about 5 miles upstream from Bargrennan where the main road crosses the Cree. Needs to be above about 0.85m to float a boat. Above 1m would be better.

    My son has done this three times and I think clock wise is the easiest way. You gain a lot of hight going up the glen. It is a harday so get an early start. Allow a good 8 hours good luck.

  • @benpulsar13
    @benpulsar13 6 років тому

    Thanks I’ll do that. Yeah I have a go pro so will probably film it and do a vid on you tube. My pics will be on my instagram. I thought about 6-7 hours with a few good breaks, so should be fine as leaving early to do the ride.

    Thanks. I noticed in the vid you had to cross the river. I’ll keep an eye on the river levels and keep my fingers crossed for the weather when I go. Can you remember roughly how long the route took you to do the loop?

    • @torrieandtodd
      @torrieandtodd 6 років тому

      Yeah, about 6.5 or so hours but I had a few stops to look at stuff and get pics and lunch etc. Take a couple of pairs of dry socks as there’s a few fords along the way, albeit not deep. Hope you have a good trip, it’s well worth it and let me know if you post a video or pics, I’d be keen to see them.

  • @benpulsar13

    Thanks. I plan to do it anti clockwise. Going to leave at first light to give myself plenty of time, and have os maps on my phone and paper map. Steep track are fine just didn’t want to be carrying the bike to much. Cheers 👍

    • @torrieandtodd
      @torrieandtodd 6 років тому

      I should have said, you need to cross the Tilt at the bottom of the steep descent so if its been raining and the river is in spate, the crossing would not be easy if at all possible.

  • @benpulsar13
    @benpulsar13 6 років тому

    Is the route rideable all the way round or is there any hike a bike involved? Looking at doing this route solo in October

    • @torrieandtodd
      @torrieandtodd 6 років тому

      Clockwise involves hike a bike up the single track from falls of tarff. If you do it anti clockwise then it’s a very steep track but doable with care. I solo’d it anti clockwise, no issues but a long day. The route is freely available on tinternet but take a map n compass in case or smartphone with os maps.
